FSU Real Estate TRENDS Conference
First hosted in 1995, the FSU Real Estate TRENDS Conference is a world-class business forum organized to highlight the emerging trends and conditions facing the real estate industry and to discuss conditions affecting national, regional and local markets. The conference consistently brings together experts from across the country with the goal of informing, challenging and inspiring its attendees. A sold-out crowd for the last several years, more than 700 registrants attend the conference each year. Industry attendees comprise institutional and private equity investors, advisors, lenders, asset managers, corporate users, developers, attorneys, brokers, appraisers and policy-makers. Designed to extend the traditional classroom, the conference reserves space for 140 real estate and finance students to attend.
Evan D. Jennings Executive Speakers Series
The Evan D. Jennings Executive Speaker Series brings leading executives and decision makers to the campus to discuss key issues, trends and policies affecting the industry and student career strategies. This forum, hosted jointly with the FSU Real Estate Center and the DeVoe Moore Center, is made possible by a generous gift from Evan D. Jennings. Held in the fall and spring semesters, the series is free and open to the public.
Real Deals and Entrepreneurs Speaker Series
The Real Deals & Entrepreneurs Series brings executive lecturers to campus to discuss the “nut & bolts” of their recent deals and day-to-day transactions with students.
Intro to ARGUS Seminar
The Intro to ARGUS seminar is offered each fall and spring as a two-day seminar to students in the Real Estate Program. Taught by David Beshears, managing director of Beshears & Associates and an executive lecturer at FSU, the center provides students an overview of ARGUS and a path to ARGUS certification.
FSU-Kislak Real Estate Market Strategies Forums
Designed to assess regional market conditions and opportunities, the FSU-Kislak Market Strategy Forums are hosted in metropolitan markets throughout the Southeast.
FSU-UF-UCF Critical Issues Symposium
Each year this symposium brings together a select group of leading scholars from around the world to present and discuss their research on the issues of the day. The papers selected for presentation may be invited for publication in a special issue of a leading journal, subject to the journal’s refereed review process. The symposium is organized jointly by the FSU Real Estate Center, the Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Florida and the Dr. P. Phillips School of Real Estate at the University of Central Florida.
Other Events, Forums & Meetings
The center helps to facilitate student participation at professional meetings throughout the year with organizations such as the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute (CCIM) and the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP).
